An Economic Method For Ranking AIS Journals

Abstract

It has been well established that a significant portion of a professor's salary is based on his or her publication record.  What is less clear is the estimated value of various journal articles and their effect on faculty salaries.  In this paper, we examine the relationship between specific journals and their association to AIS (Accounting Information Systems) faculty salaries. We found that several journals are significantly correlated to faculty salaries while many other journals had little association with compensation.
