Flowcharting Software Selection For Case Tool Simulation In An AIS Course

Abstract

Assuming that at least an acquaintance with CASE Tool technology is a desirable skill for AIS students, this paper examines how inexpensive flowcharting software products can be used to demonstrate CASE Tool software functions.  To accomplish this, certain functions are necessary in the flowcharting software and these requirements need to be included in the software selection process.  An examination of these requirements, the selection process, and a review of flowcharting software are included.  Three inexpensive software products are identified that meet the requirements.
