Abstract

The casino entertainment industry has emerged as one of the greatest contributors to nations economy in terms of revenues, employment opportunities, and the building and construction industry. As a high investment business information from market research is a critical part of in the initial investment plan. The use of Geographic Information Systems has played an important role to assist decision making in business applications. It provides a whole new dimension to information processing by introducing spatial aspect to market research. The case suty in this research paper demonstrates the application of GIS for analyzing the casino center markets in Louisiana and Mississippi, and its use as a decision support tool in an executive information system.
