Abstract

Outsourcing is the contracting out of all or part of a companys information systems functions to outside parties. This research provides preliminary findings on the perceptions of IS (Information Systems) professionals on outsourcing. The findings of this study indicate that in order to effectively deal with the human aspects of outsourcing, management must understand what perceptions exist within the employee ranks and develop a plan which addresses employee needs and perceptions. Such a management action plan is presented in this paper.
