Abstract

This study examines the relationship among locus of control (Rotter, 1966) perceived stress, and performance of 206 newly-hired juniors (106 males and 100 females) from two Big-Six accounting firms. The data indicate that the more internal the individuals locus of control, the more that individual perceived stress as leading to higher achievements. Positive perceptions of stress were also related to higher grade point averages.
